Abstract

Nadia Mustafa’s article presents a review ofKhaldūnian studies aimed to answer the proximity of these studies to highlighting Ibn Khaldūn's contribution to the field of international relations in theory and practice. The article stems from an epistemological question that arises from the differences among epistemological paradigms, and other issues in the field of comparative political theory, especially in relation to the theory of international relations from a comparative perspective in terms of the map of trends and problems. It also discusses the approach to the field of international relations, a review of the state of international relations, Ibn Khaldūn’s heritage between presence and absence, a review of this heritage, and methodological contributions of Ibn Khaldūn in the study of international change.  The conclusion poses the question, “Why have we failed in the past six centuries to diagnose the causes of decline?”
