Abstract

Muhammad al-Hassan Breima’s article is divided into five parts. Part I discusses theoretical principles pertaining to social phenomenon in the Qur’an and addresses the general divine plan for creation after discussing the methodological approach.  Part II discusses the principles of social phenomenon and principles of maqāṣid  al-Sharīʿah (objectives of Shariʿah). Part III addresses the concept of social development and its issues within a temporal perspective and in the context of maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. Part IV discusses the maqāṣidī concept of development.  Part V raises the issues of maqāṣidī social development from the conceptual level, the level of internal relationships of variables, and the level of inter-relations, further explaining the thoughts of the research through descriptive graphics.
