Abstract
Ahmad Merzaq’s article discusses the concept of bias in the thought of Abdul Wahhab al-Meseri through a comprehensive and methodological study (given that al-Meseri represents a stage of comprehensive methodological consciousness) and theorization on the phenomenon of bias. It begins with the position of modern Arab culture in general and contemporary Arab culture in particular vis-a-vis Western knowledge, and the current that attempted to confront Western culture. It then discusses the research methodology that stem from a number of facts for the purpose of learning a dual-faceted task: a constructivist facet, which purports the construction of the concept of bias in the thought of al-Meseri; and an analytical facet. The study includes: a brief biography of Abdul Wahhab al-Meseri; bias in language and usage; bias as used by al-Meseri; and identifying al-Meseri's own biases.
