Scientific and Civilizational Dimensions of the Characteristics of Divine Law (al-Sunan al-Ilāhiyyah)

Abstract

The study examines the characteristics of Divine Law (al-Sunan al-Ilāhiyyah) and their denotations in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Tradition. It focuses on the scientific and civilizational dimensions of these characteristics and their significance in the development and progress of nations. The study comprises an introduction, two topics and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the significance of the study, its parameters and technical terms. The first topic comes under the title of “Scientific and Civilizational Dimensions of the Characteristics of Divine Law (al-sunan al-ilāhiyyah)”; whereas the second is designated as “Social Laws (al-sunan al-ijtimā‘iyyah) as a Way of Building Nations and Developing Civilizations.” The conclusion presents the findings and the recommendations of the study.
