Abstract
Ruheil Gharaibeh’s article aims to resolve the paradox of freedom and power (authority) in the Islamic political system, with the aim of presenting an Islamic perspective on freedom. It discusses the concept of freedom, and its importance in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). It then discusses the concept of freedom in the rules of Islamic political system and its objectives (maqāṣid), wherein he addresses the following: the concept of politics and its objectives in Islamic jurisprudence, the relationship between authority and human freedom, freedom in the precepts of the Islamic political system, and freedom in the maqāṣid of the Islamic political system and its duties.
