Abstract
Mujahid Bahjat’s article discusses literature and critique using a descriptive and analytical research methodology. It is divided into an introduction and three parts. The introduction identifies beauty and commitment in language and usage. The first part discusses the relationship of Islam with beauty, beauty and tawḥīd (Oneness of God), its purpose, and the beauty of the universe in the Qur'an. The second part presents a critical Islamic view of the concept of iltizām (pietistic commitment to Islamic values and principles) in the Qur'an, Shariʿah rulings, beauty between subjectivity and objectivity, and iltizām and art. The final part examines the Qur'anic method between the magnificence of the meaning and the beauty of the word and its enunciation; and analyzes Qur’anic aesthetic images depicting heaven and hell.
