Abstract
Hamid Qannibi’s article is an inductive study in the poetry of Hassan al-Amrani, which stems from an analytical reading of his poem Iʿtidhāriyyat al-Amrānī ila Abī Ayūb al-Anṣārī (Al-Amrani's Apology to Abu Ayub al-Ansari). The study aims to present a view that contributes in understanding the features of the theory of Islamic literature, and the role of Muslim literary writers in pioneering Islamic literature. It discusses the nature of the relationship between the intellectual content and the creative form of poetry in particular. The importance of the study is that it provides an exercise of self-criticism of an example of Islamic literature according to the following frameworks: the apologetic elements in the poem, the preliminary reading of the text, and the symbolism and mysticism in the text.
